Expanding to gratify the increasing demand for health services has been a challenging journey for Brokenshire Memorial Hospital to undertake after 7 years of closure. In its wake, the closure left a trail of encroaching dilapidation and damage, most of the rooms left unfit for hospital utilization. Rehabilitation of the rooms and facilities called for vast financial resources.
During its faithful years of service in the past, the hospital had touched the lives of people who have come to care for Brokenshire. Seeing their concern for the hospital’s development, the administration took courage to invite them to become mission partners by sponsoring in its Adopt-A-Room Project.
Words of encouragement from one of BMH’s mission partners:
Good Morning and greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. First, I would like to acknowledge the work of Brokenshire Integrated Health Ministries, Incorporated and I am very thankful to the Lord for all the work they have done to minister and care for so many people in Davao. Providing a comfortable and well equipped hospital room for the sick, is just one of the many ways Brokenshire serves the people of Davao. To provide this service, Brokenshire seeks donors who can help equip hospital rooms. You might ask why one would like to adopt a room. Off hand I can think of at least 2 reasons. Many of us are blessed with good health, good jobs, supportive families, and enough material well being, that giving and sharing our blessings is one way of demonstrating our gratitude to God. An open hand that gives, is one that can receive, while a closed hand can not. Honoring our loved ones is also another reason for participating in the Adopt-A-Room Project. Often we want to remember our loved ones and what better way can we do this, but help rehabilitate and equip a hospital room. Everytime an Adopt-A-Room is used, we are honoring our loved one. I hope that you will consider adopting a room and talk to your friends and relatives and mention the Adopt-A-Room Project. They, too, might want to honor a loved one and at the same time help serve the people of Davao….”
