:: CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES ::

Corporate Social Responsibility is enshrined within the Vision-Mission-Goals and Core Values of Brokenshire Integrated Health Ministries, Inc. (BIHMI) where “everyone is whole and benefits abundantly from the fullness of life (Vision)”, and therefore “commits itself to help address the health needs of the people holistically in the most accessible and affordable manner so as to make health services available to the urban and rural communities (Mission)”, and “BIHMI shall give priority to the disadvantaged and marginalized within the bounds of its resources and facilities (Core Values)”.

This Corporate Social Responsibility is translated into the following responsibilities:

1. Brokenshire Woman Center (BWC)

The BWC is one of the special projects of BIHMI, spearheaded by the Brokenshire Memorial Hospital Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology to respond specifically to women reproductive health-care and other women health problems and issues. BWC offers affordable reproductive health-care packages like normal spontaneous deliveries and caesarian section and gynecological surgeries.

2. Brokenshire Social Welfare Center (BSWC)

Social Welfare Center

Another special project is the BSWC tasked to respond to the hospital in-patient’s needs - financial, moral, spiritual, emotional assistance and referrals. The BSWC also assists the Chaplaincy Office in the regular visit of in-patients to comfort and render support to the patient and watcher/family member.

3. Brokenshire Community Health Insurance (BCHI)

A pioneering model in the whole country, BIHMI, in responding further to a specific need arising from community work experience, made a break-through collaboration with a local government unit. In the municipalities of Alabel, Sarangani Province; President Roxas, North Cotabato; Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur, and Carmen, Agusan del Norte, BIHMI initiated the partnership with the Philhealth, Municipal Governments, and Barangays in responding to the “Indigent Program of PhilHealth” to bring health insurance to poor people. They received Philhealth cards that can be used in any Philhealth accredited hospitals anywhere in the country.

4. Brokenshire Renal Dialysis Center (BRDC)

The BRDC is a special program of BIHMI-Brokenshire Memorial Hospital to cater to patients with kidney problems using state-of-the-art hemodialysis machines. BRDC offers a very affordable hemodialysis procedure for PHIC members.

5. Brokenshire Health Cooperatives (BHC)

The BHC is one of the programs of BIHMI managed by the Brokenshire Community Health and Development Center (BCHDC). BCHDC establishes community-owned and community-managed health cooperatives in order to help uplift communities. In Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur, BCHDC helped establish nine (9) health coops; in Digos City three (3); in Alabel, Sarangani one (1); in Pres. Roxas, Cotabato seven (7); there are three (3) established health cooperatives in Brgy. Bunyasan, Malimono, Surigao del Norte; Brgy. Gosoon, Carmen, Agusan del Norte; and Brgy. Freedom, Cabanglasan, Bukidnon. Among the socio-economic projects of the health coops include consumer store, pharmacy, marketing (buy and sell of farm products), clinic, water system, demonstration farm, piggery, and others.
